Foodie Friday: New Lighter Side Menu Options at The Table

It’s hard to believe it’s already been six months since we first tried The Table soon after it opened here in Flower Mound. Those six months have been filled with many delicious meals spent at the restaurant with owner, Bruce Wills! And today we were treated to another exquisite meal as we had the chance to try some items on their new lunch menu which made its grand debut today.

Bruce and Chef Ray Skradzinski created their new Lighter Side menu in an effort to accommodate the appetites of customers as we move into the warmer spring and summer months. They’re excited to show their capabilities and skills through these lighter dishes – plus they said they’ll pair perfectly with the new white wines on their menu as well.

So, I’m excited to share with you what some of the menu items are!

We started off with a couple of their new salads – the Chili-Mango Chicken Salad, which is Thai-inspired with shredded cabbage, chili and crushed peanuts; and the Asparagus Salad which comes topped with slices of flat iron steak, shaved red onions, grilled asparagus and a grain mustard vinaigrette. Kari said her favorite was the Chili-Mango and Nina’s was the Asparagus Salad. I liked both, so I guess that means you’ll have to try them both to be our tie-breaker!

After sampling their salads, we tried a couple of their new pasta dishes including the Field Mushroom Rigatoni made with their house-made rigatoni pasta and truffle oil and the House Spagettini which is (quite literally) simply delicious made with just oven dried tomatoes, basil and garlic. If you’re looking for something light but filling, the Spagettini is your new best friend – there is no oil or butter used in cooking the pasta, so it doesn’t leave you with that heavy feeling after you eat it. This was a fan-favorite at our lunch.

Last but not least – for all you olive-lovers out there – you’ll love their Three Olive Flat Bread topped off with Nicoise, Kalamata and Manzanilla olives, fresh mozzarella, Parmesan, oven dried tomatoes and lemon. Nina’s our resident olive fan and she was a big fan of this guy.

We’re so grateful to have The Table as part of our community – it’s definitely a Jay Marks go-to spot. If you’re a fan too, or if you haven’t made it over to try them yet, go eat some of their new menu items. They’re great lunch options!

And stay tuned for news of future locations of The Table – Bruce and his team are looking to share the love with some other communities in the DFW area – and you know I’ve always got the scoop for you…

Stay safe in the storm today, Foodies! Jay Marks, over and out.
