With the end of the school year fast approaching, I know those of you who are parents of current and future FMHS and MHS students are asking yourselves, “Will the 9th Grade campuses be finished in time for school next year?”
The answer according to LISD staff is YES! I’ve done a little research via the individual 9th Grade Campus Facebook pages and the LISD website to bring you information about progress on construction of the new campuses as well as details regarding what exactly will be inside these awesome new buildings.
Here’s a hint… there is some COOL stuff in store for students and teachers.
I’ll start with Marcus’s 9th Grade campus.
Here are some pictures from earlier this month of the construction site. It’s finally starting to look like a complete building!
This state-of-the-art facility will include a 21st Century learning environment that inspires students’ creativity, flexibility and collaborative learning. Within the 9th Grade campus there will be a complete administrative team, classrooms for core content classes and several elective classes as well as a gym.
If you haven’t seen renderings of what the campus will look like when it’s completed, here are just a few for you to check out. I’m a little jealous I didn’t get to go to a high school that looked like this – it’s straight out of the movies!
Now an update on Flower Mound’s 9th Grade campus.
Here are some photos of the construction progress via the campus’s Facebook page earlier this month. Look at the size of that science classroom! Even without anything in it, it looks like an amazing environment for students to explore and learn.
At the opening of the 2014-2015 school year, students of Flower Mound High School will enjoy the addition of a new black box theatre, baseball and softball fields in addition to the 9th Grade Campus.
The new campus will include its own cafeteria for students and faculty to enjoy, a two-story media center and multiple collaboration spaces. These spaces are intended to serve both teachers and students with cutting-edge technologies to aid them in their engagement and higher level learning.
Principals and staff of both campuses are extremely excited for the opening of these new campuses for incoming freshmen and are hopeful that the amenities offered to students and faculty will inspire great things. I personally cannot wait to see the final products at both schools!
You can keep tabs on progress throughout the summer by subscribing to the campus Facebook pages. Click below for links to each page.
And get excited for these buildings to open their doors this August!
