It may surprise some of you to know that I would prefer to celebrate Halloween a million times over before I get all fun and festive for Christmas. But thank goodness for Kari and Traci around our office who are willing to decorate with some Christmas cheer!
I really do love Christmas though and this year, the Town of Flower Mound is inviting residents to take part in the 2014 night-time Christmas Parade of Lights and tree-lighting ceremony on Saturday, December 6 at 6:00pm. This is a new event that marks the 25th anniversary of the Town’s Christmas Parade.
The parade route will go from Shadow Ridge Middle School to Gerault Park, with lighted floats and festive characters. At the parade’s finale, the tree-lighting ceremony will take place with choir performances, pictures with Santa Claus, carriage rides, a snow hill, petting zoo, kids’ activities and MORE! And of course, there will be food. Food trucks to be exact.
If you’re interested in entering a float into this year’s parade, just click here where you can download the application form to be submitted by 5:00pm on Friday, November 21. There’s no entry fee to enter a float – they just ask for canned food to benefit the CCA canned food drive.
There will be non-cash awards presented to the top entry and runner-up within each category, so if you’ve got a competitive Christmas spirit, this is the event for you!
