Remember how much excitement there was over the announcement of Flower Mound’s first hotel at the Flower Mound River Walk? Well, get ready to be excited all over again as it was just announced that Flower Mound is getting another hotel overlooking Grapevine Lake within the Lakeside DFW development!

The “showpiece hotel” will be called the Pearl on the Peninsula and will be a contemporary 12-floor hotel and conference center. There are set to be 220 rooms and luxury suites – including some deluxe “sky villas” on the top floor of the hotel (which you know is where I want to stay).

And with its lakeside location, they’ll be able to take advantage of some of those gorgeous lake views with a perch 140 feet off the water.

Other guest amenities will include an infinity pool and a couple of restaurants – a European market, a full-service restaurant and bar and a poolside bar.

As for the “conference center” portion of the hotel, there will be plenty of space to hold conferences as well as a 10,000-square-foot ballroom great for throwing large events.

And here’s a fun fact: Scott Tarwater, a partner in New Era (the company developing the hotel), is heading up the project because his family used to actually own the land the hotel will be housed on.

They anticipate breaking ground in July 2016 with a projected opening date in the fourth quarter of 2017.

I see many weekend getaways in my future at this place… I cannot wait!
