At the end of each year, I always look forward to spending quality time with my team members and our spouses as we celebrate our year’s accomplishments at our annual Jay Marks Real Estate Team Holiday Dinner.
And this year, I really loved our dinner that we enjoyed at Ferrari’s Italian Villa & Chop House in Grapevine. We were able to reserve a private room which allowed us to have dinner at our own pace and have great conversation in a more private environment.
And the service we received was absolutely incredible! Our server was so knowledgeable about the restaurant and the menu, and she was even able to get Owner, Jane Secchi, to come in for a few minutes and tell us about their family’s restaurant.
Ferrari’s is truly a family-owned and run restaurant. Owners Francesco and Jane Secchi include all three of their sons in the family business. Their oldest, Stefano, is one of the top rising chef’s in Dallas and serves as chef de cuisine at the restaurant. Their middle son, Gavin, works as the Head Brewer at the Karbach Brewing Company in Houston – which Ferrari serves in their restaurant. And their youngest son, Gianni, helps out wherever and whenever he can with all that’s required to run a family-owned restaurant.
It’s family-first for the Secchi family, and when you eat at Ferrari’s, you definitely feel like you’re part of the family.
Their menu is highly refined, but has that home-style Italian feel at the same time. It’s the best of both worlds!
Our meal was absolutely incredible, so I’m thrilled to share with you everything we had the chance to try.
We started out in true Italian style with their traditional Antipasto made up of broccolini, eggplant, peppers, caprese, gorgonzola-stuffed mushrooms, and cannellini beans as well as some prosciutto, mortadella and sopressata. They also brought us some of their homemade focaccia bread which they make with authentic Italian yeast.
For our entrees, most of us took advantage of their incredible steak selection by ordering their bone-in ribeye stuffed with gorgonzola as well as their filet.
Nina ordered their Chilean Sea Bass which comes topped with lump crab.
And Kari was our official pasta taste-tester and ordered their Pollo Finanziera which was made with fresh-made fettuccine, chicken, ham, mushrooms, english peas and a cream sauce.
We also ordered a few of their sides to try out including their gnocchi which comes covered in a gorgonzola cream sauce, the fried potatoes, and their roasted brussel sprouts.
Every single thing we ate was so incredibly rich and delicious. Pure Italian comfort food.
We completed our meal by trying a few of their desserts. And we definitely knew that one of the desserts we needed to try was their Banana’s Franceso which is made table-side. They sautee the bananas with butter, brown sugar, dark rum, banana liqueur, and fresh cinnamon and then serve it with pistachio and vanilla gelato. It was so fun to watch them make, and from what we hear, it was delicious as well!
We also ordered their Cheesecake which comes served with raspberry and mango coulis, as well as the Creme Brulee which is a citrus custard made with Tahitian vanilla bean.
As you can see, we definitely did not hold back at this dinner! But with so many amazing things to choose from, it was hard to narrow it down to anything less than this.
We loved the experience we had at Ferrari’s. If you’re looking for someplace to hold your own private event, we’d definitely recommend looking into their private dining options. But it’s a great place to come and eat on a normal night out as well.
We’re grateful to them for helping our team’s holiday dinner be such a success and look forward to several more meals with them in the future!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of you, Foodies! Thank you for all of your support over the years. Let’s look forward to an even more delicious 2017!
